The African Democratic Party (ADC) has criticised the Federal Government’s tax reform law, describing it as anti-people and capable of plunging the nation into deeper economic hardship and social instability.
The party also expressed concern over the persistent insecurity across the country, describing the situation as traumatic and a major source of growing distrust between citizens and government, largely due to repeated unfulfilled promises to guarantee safety of lives and property.
These views were contained in a Christmas message to Nigerians signed by the National Assistant Organizing Secretary of the party, Ali Tukur Gantsa, who extended warm Christmas wishes to Christians and prayed for a peaceful and prosperous New Year for all Nigerians.
Gantsa, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary in Jigawa State also Organizing Secretary, North West Zone, urged the Federal Government to rise decisively to its constitutional responsibility by addressing the worsening security challenges confronting the nation.
He also condoled with the government and people of Kano State over the tragic death of two serving lawmakers on the same day, describing the incident as deeply painful and a great loss to the state and the nation at large.
Similarly, the ADC commiserated with the Borno State Government and families affected by the recent bomb attack that claimed several lives and left many others injured, calling for renewed commitment to safeguarding citizens.
The party concluded by appealing for unity, compassion, and responsive leadership as Nigerians celebrate Christmas and look forward to the New Year.
