The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has commended Governor Dikko Umar Radda for the appointment of the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Husaini Hamisu Yanduna as a Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.
This commendation is contained in a statement issued and signed by the State President of NULGE, the Dan Saran Daura, Comrade Nasiru Wada Maiadua.
Wada described Yanduna’s appointment as well deserved in view of his wealth of experience and leadership qualities.
He said Yanduna’s examplary leadership qualities contributed significantly to the growth of the Katsina civil service.
He further added that his tenure as chairman of NLC ensured the upliftment worker’s welfare.
“He worked with organized labour unions for the protection of workers interest. His leadership qualities brought positive changes in NLC,” he said.
Wada added that Yanduna’s tenure also ensured the implemention of minimum wage for workers, and settlement of pensioners’ gratuity by the state government amounting to about N42 billion.
He added that NLC under his watch, moved to its permanent office bringing to an end the use of rented office since the creation of the state in1987.
Wada, who doubles as the Vice Chairman and Acting Secretary of NLC, on behalf of the entire workers in the state, congratulated Yanduna on his new assignment and prayed to Allah to give him the courage and wisdom to discharge his duty.
