Kano APC Persons With Disabilities Reject Kwankwaso’s Return To APC

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

The APC Persons With Disabilities Support Organization in Kano State has rejected the potential defection of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso to the APC, saying his return may not augur well for the party.

The organization made the remark while addressing a press conference at the NUJ press centre, Kano, on Saturday.

“The APC Persons with Disabilities Support Organization Kano State, representing the collective interests of our members, unequivocally and categorically rejects Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s potential return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“This decision is guided by our commitment to uphold the party’s stability, prosperity, and unity. Kwankwaso’s self-interest would undermine the party’s peace and success, treating APC like his personal company, similar to his past parties, ” it said.

The group which spoke through its Chairman, Comrade Aminu Mu’azu Fagge, however said it welcomes individuals “who genuinely contribute to APC’s growth, while maintaining zero tolerance for discord, because APC is not one person’s property; it’s a great party for all-good citizens of Nigeria.”

“We reaffirm our unwavering loyalty to the APC leadership, under Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Hon. Abdullahi Abbas Sanusi. Their leadership exemplifies the party’s values and principles.

“APC’s inclusive approach empowers Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). We appreciate their welfare initiatives under the renewed hope agenda of Mr President.

“The APC Persons with Disabilities Support Organization Kano State prioritizes APC’s unity, stability and prosperity, ” the organization added.

The group’s statement came in the wake of conversations about the possible return of Kwankwaso to the APC after leaving the party several years ago.

Part of the discussions is the statement by the Chairman of the APC in Kano State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, who said the party welcomes Kwankwaso’s speculated return.

“Of recent, the attention of the party has been drawn to speculations of the impending decamping of the leader of the expelled faction of the NNPP, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into the party.

“This is a welcome development, especially given the fact that the APC remains his last political refuge as he has successfully destroyed his relations with all other political groupings in the country, ” Abbas said.

But his counterpart, the Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, denied rumours about Kwankwaso’s defection to APC.

“We have no business with the APC, and do not have any intention to defect to it,” Dungurawa said, dismissing the rumors as mere mischief.
