The Emir of Yauri, Dr. Zayyanu Abdullahi, has said Yauri Emirate is “deeply indebted” to Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, for his interventions in security, education, healthcare and agriculture.
The Emir stated this when the Kebbi State Media Team led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, paid him a courtesy visit in Yauri.
Dr. Zayyanu commended the governor for personally visiting bandits-infested areas before and after assuming office, which he said led to the deployment of security personnel and the return of farmers to their farms.
He also praised the rehabilitation of General Hospital Yauri, construction and renovation of schools, scholarship for abducted schoolgirls, provision of farm inputs, and the establishment of a modern fish market in the emirate.
The Emir further appreciated the governor’s support to the traditional institution, including renovation of the palace at ₦100 million and provision of official vehicles.
“Whoever stands by Yauri, Yauri will stand by them. The Governor has stood by us, and we must return the favour,” he said.
Earlier, the Commissioner listed the administration’s achievements including road construction, recruitment of 2,000 teachers, improved workers’ welfare, and efforts to attract investors in lithium and agriculture.
He said the Media Team was in Yauri to assess government projects firsthand, and to ensure proper dissemination of information to the public.
