The Yahaya Sarki Foundation has disbursed N20,000 cash grants to 200 women, youth, and persons with special needs in Nasarawa II, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, in support of the empowerment initiatives of the wife of the State Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris.

The empowerment programme was held on Sunday at Shiyar Sarakuna, Gawo Nasarawa II, Birnin Kebbi. It marked the second phase of the foundation’s intervention.

In his welcome address, the Founder of the Foundation and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, said the initiative was organised in collaboration with his brother, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Abubakar Ahmed.

“We organised this to empower 200 persons with special needs, women and youth with N20,000 each. This is to complement what the wife of the Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, is doing to support vulnerable groups in the state,” he said.

Alhaji Sarki said beneficiaries were drawn from the Sarkin Abdullahi family, APC Youth in Nasarawa II Ward, members of the Yahaya Sarki Foundation, and the ‘Yan Sarki Youth Forum.

He urged beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously and announced the flag-off of another phase of the foundation’s quarterly fumigation exercise in the area.

Alhaji Yahaya, while highlighting some of the development projects executed under the present administration, called on the people of Nasarawa II and Kebbi State at large to continue to support Governor Nasir Idris.

He said the administration had recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, health, education, and youth empowerment, and urged residents to reciprocate with their votes in the 2027 general elections to ensure continuity and consolidation of the gains.

In their separate remarks, the State
Acting APC Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie;and the Ambassador for the Renewed Hope Agenda, Sambo Gwandu, commended the gesture.

The Commissioner for Information and culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, described the intervention as timely and impactful.

Birnin Kebbi urged other political appointees in the state to emulate such gestures by initiating programmes that directly improve the lives of the people at the grassroots.

He said such efforts would complement government policies and reduce hardships among vulnerable groups.

The speakers also urged residents of the area to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris in the 2027 elections.
