As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, Nigerians are undoubtedly yearning for a new kind of leadership one capable of turning the nation around and rescuing it from the deepening crisis of insecurity, economic hardship, and uncertainty unprecedented even before independence.

The state of the nation demands urgent, decisive, and experienced leadership. Nigeria’s challenges can no longer be managed with rhetoric or recycled promises; they must be confronted head-on with competence, courage, and a proven record of service.

Against this backdrop, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi stands out as the right man for the moment, based on his pedigree, leadership experience, and track record in governance and public service, as summarized below.

Given the hardship Nigerians currently face, I have deliberately kept this brief, knowing that long features are difficult to endure in these trying times. I urge you to read along this is more than political discourse; it is a civic responsibility.

    Summary of Key Points

Proven Leadership: Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has an extensive record as Speaker, Governor, and Minister, demonstrating capacity, courage, and competence at both state and federal levels.

Track Record of Delivery: As Minister of Transportation, he delivered major rail, port, and logistics projects, turning long-standing plans into functional infrastructure that boosted trade and economic integration.

Economic Impact: His policies directly supported commerce, entrepreneurship, and market access, particularly in key commercial hubs like Kano, by reducing transport costs and improving connectivity.

Alignment with ADC Ideals: Amaechi embodies the ADC’s core values of competence-based leadership, national unity, institutional respect, and reform-driven governance.

National Appeal: He enjoys broad acceptance across regions, ethnicities, and social groups, making him a unifying figure with strong electability.

Consensus Candidate: Given his experience, credibility, and clear advantage, Amaechi stands out as the most logical and natural consensus presidential candidate for the ADC.

Right Leader for the Moment: In a time demanding tested leadership rather than experimentation, Amaechi represents stability, reform, and a clear path to national renewal

Gone are the days when we wait for the storm to pass, we must learn how to dance in the rain.

A stitch in time saves nine
