Ramadan: ” Feed Your Imaan, Starve Your Ego”

    1. The Ramadan phrase “Feed your Imaan, Starve your Ego” is a powerful reminder about the spiritual purpose of Ramadan. It teaches that the month is meant to strengthen faith while reducing pride, selfishness, and arrogance.
      1. “Feed your Imaan”
Imaan means faith in Allah. Feeding your Imaan means nourishing your soul with good deeds, such as:
      Praying regularly and sincerely
Reading and reflecting on the Qur’an
      Giving charity (sadaqah)
      Showing kindness and patience
      Remembering Allah (dhikr)
Just like the body needs food, the heart needs spiritual nourishment.
      2. “Starve your Ego”
The ego (nafs) is the part of a person that pushes toward:
      Pride
      Anger
      Arrogance
      Greed
      Showing off
Fasting during Ramadan helps weaken these negative traits. When you control hunger, speech, and actions, you train your ego not to dominate your behavior.
      3. The Deeper Meaning
The phrase means that Ramadan is not only about avoiding food and drink. It is about disciplining the self.
When the body eats less, the soul grows stronger.
When the ego becomes weaker, faith becomes stronger.
      Simple summary
Feed your Imaan: Do more good and strengthen your relationship with Allah.
Starve your Ego: Reduce pride, selfishness, and bad habits.
🌙 In essence, Ramadan is a month to grow spiritually while humbling the self.
