    Empowerment:Gov Yusuf Distributes N55.8m To 1,116 Entrepreneurs

    Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has disbursed N55.8 million to 1,116 young entrepreneurs doing business in Kano metropolis, as part of his administration’s efforts to promote youth entrepreneurship and improve livelihoods.

    The beneficiaries, who include petty traders, shoe repairers, and other small-scale business owners, received N50,000 each under the State Government’s youth empowerment programme to help expand their businesses.

    Distributing the grants at a ceremony at the Government House,Kano, on Thursday, Yusuf said the initiative was in fulfillment one of his key campaign promises to the youths.

    He pledged his administration’s continued commitment to fulfill its promises to the people of the state.

    The governor expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support and loyalty accorded him by the youths in the state,which he said prompted his government to implement programmes that would improve their welfare and economic prospects.

    He said that his administration would continue to prioritize youth empowerment through initiatives aimed at promoting self-reliance, reducing unemployment and idleness, and stimulating economic growth in the state.

    He said the beneficiaries of the empowerment grants were selected from different parts of Kano metropolis who engage in various small-scale businesses in various locations in the area.

    Yusuf commended the beneficiaries for choosing legitimate means of livelihood, in spite of the prevailing economic challenges, describing them as hardworking, resilient, and worthy of government support.

    He assured that his administration would sustain programmes aimed at supporting small businesses while creating more economic opportunities for youths across the state.
