Represented by Alhaji Baba Ado at a grand reception in honour of Kabiru Abdussalam, recently elevated to Professor and Chief Consultant Chemical Pathologist by the Senate of Bayero University Kano, the District Head emphasized mutual respect and collaboration as key to overcoming societal challenges.
He commended the people of Yanbanga for organizing the reception and urged them to sustain their unity and support for progressive initiatives.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Haruna Musa, described Professor Abdussalam as one of the institution’s distinguished scholars, recognized for outstanding research and academic excellence. He encouraged the celebrant to intensify efforts toward greater research breakthroughs.
Also speaking, the District Head of Makoda, Ali Mukhtar, and former Dambatta Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Musa Alhassan, praised the Professor’s humanitarian contributions and described the event as a morale booster and a model for community recognition of excellence.
Several academics and medical professionals from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and Bayero University Kano paid glowing tributes to Professor Abdussalam for his selfless service to humanity.
In his response, Professor Abdussalam expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders, university management, medical community, and dignitaries who honoured him. The event, attended by various organizations and community groups, highlighted the enduring legacy and unity of the Yanbanga clan across multiple local government areas.
