Tinubu’s Leading Of Signing Of Peace Accord, Infrastructure Development, Others Enough Credentials For His 2nd Term – Iliyasu Kwankwaso

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

A bigwig of the All Progressives Congress(APC),Dr.Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Leading of the Signing of Peace Accord for the 2027 General Elections, indicates that he is a Democrat.

Kwankwaso also stated that the President’s non-interference in the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State which was adjudged free and fair, is another testament to his democratic credentials.

The Director Finance Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority(HJRBDA), made the remarks in a statement which he personally signed and circulated to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.

According to him,the twin gestures have, therefore, further qualified the president to be voted for a second term in the 2027 general elections,to enable him to complete his task of making Nigeria great.

Kwankwaso, who was a three-time Commissioner in the Government of Kano State and a two-term Local Government Chairman in the State, stated that Tinubu’s peace posture and his development strides across the country further boosts his credentials to win the presidential poll.

He explained that in the last three years of his administration,Tinubu has demonstrated that he is a Nationalist who cares for the growth of every part of the country.

He specifically cited the president’s development efforts in the Northern region including addressing the problem of insecurity and completion of ongoing projects in the zone.

“Only yesterday, the National President of All Farmers Association of Nigeria(AFAM), Dr Farouk, showcased one of the development strides of President of freeing large areas of farming lands earlier taken by bandits,” Kwankwaso said.

He also stated that hundreds of IDPs are today returning home due to the peace brought about by the efforts of the Nigerian security personnel being supported by President Tinubu.

“Similarly, more than 1,400 kilometres of major road projects in addition to the AKK gas project and metropolitan rail line are being undertaken across the region, with a combined value exceeding N7.21 trillion,” the APC Stalwart said.

He then listed the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway, rehabilitation of the Kano-Maiduguri road, dualisation of the Kano-Katsina road and the reconstruction of the Kano-Hadejia road among several other projects being executed by the president.

Again, he cited the proposed Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, describing the 1,068-kilometre corridor, with an integrated rail line, as a major project capable of strengthening economic links between Northern and Southern Nigeria.

In the transport sector, Kwankwaso cited the $1.2 billion Kano-Kaduna rail project, alongside the Kano-Maradi rail line and the proposed Kaduna Light Rail, as initiatives that could improve the movement of passengers and goods while reducing pressure on major highways.

He further listed the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline, the 1,350MW Gwagwalada Independent Power Plant and solar energy projects in Kaduna among the energy interventions he said could expand power supply and stimulate industrial activity in the region.

He also noted that the upgrading of the Misau General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre, improvements at the Reference Hospital in Kaduna and the rehabilitation of the Kumpada Irrigation Project as evidence of investment in social services and agriculture in the region.

“These projects show that the region is receiving significant attention,” he said, urging citizens to distinguish between legitimate criticisms and what he described as politically motivated narratives so that they would massively vote for the President to continue with the good work he has been doing.
