A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Kano State, Dr Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, says President Bola Tinubu will win a second term in 2027, despite opposition from certain personalities in the North.
Such personalities, Kwankwaso said, are Alhaji Hakeem Baba Ahmed of the Arewa Consultative Forum(ACF) and also a former Political Adviser to Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Similarly, he said, the president would get a landslide victory in the North, despite the opposition of a staunch member of the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP),Alhaji Buba Galadima.
He made the remark in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday while responding to Baba Ahmed’s criticisms against the Tinubu administration.
According to Kwankwaso, who is also the Executive Director Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority(HJRBDA), the duo lacked the political influence to stop Tinubu from achieving the feat, come 2027.
“They cannot tell people in the North not to vote for Tinubu in 2027, because they will not listen to them; Tinubu has done a lot for the region.
“In less than two years of his Government, Bola Tinubu has brought serious development to the North, including efforts to complete the Kano-Kaduna-Abuja road and the Badagary- Kebbi Road network.
“There is also no gainsaying that prices of foodstuff and other essential commodities are going down and Nigerians, including Northerners, are affording the commodities again,”the APC bigwig added.
