The Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps has strongly condemned the killing of innocent citizens by suspected thugs, describing the incident as barbaric and a grave threat to public peace.

The attack, which occurred in Kano on Tuesday, has sparked widespread concern among residents and heightened tensions across parts of the state.

In a statement the Director Public Enlightenment Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim on Wednesday, the Corps said the act was “inhumane, unacceptable and a direct threat to the peace, unity and stability that Kano State is known for.”

The Commander General of the Corps, Lt. Col. Aminu Yusuf Abdulmalik (Rtd), expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the families of the victims.

He reassured residents of the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing that security operations would be intensified in collaboration with other agencies.

According to him, the Corps is strengthening surveillance and boosting community engagement efforts to prevent a recurrence of such violence.

Abdulmalik also called on parents and guardians to take greater responsibility in guiding their children, emphasizing the need for moral upbringing, discipline, and respect for human life.

He urged residents to remain calm, law abiding, and vigilant, while reporting suspicious activities to security authorities.

The Corps provided emergency contact lines, 08110904389 and 07049124994, for the public to report threats or incidents.

The Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining peace, security, and harmony across the state.
