The Rano Local Government Council has approved the appointment of one hundred (100) Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to support grassroots development across the ten wards of the local government area.
The approval was granted by the Chairman of the council, Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, as part of efforts to deepen community engagement and enhance effective governance at the ward level.
This development was disclosed in a press statement issued and made available to journalists by the Zonal Information Officer in charge of Rano Zone, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi Gyadi. According to the statement, the appointments were made in line with a directive from the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, mandating all local government councils to appoint Senior Special Assistants to serve as a bridge between the government and the people at the grassroots.
The Chairman urged the newly appointed SSAs to remain committed and loyal to the policies and programmes of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration, as well as those of the Rano Local Government Council. He emphasized the need for their active participation in the implementation and execution of developmental projects across the local government and Kano State at large.
In his remarks, the Director of Personnel Management of the council, Alhaji Ado Dan’azumi, assured that staff of the local government would work closely with the newly appointed aides to ensure sustainable development in all wards of the area.
Some of the beneficiaries of the appointment, including Sadisu Rurum Tsohon Gari and Umar Zinyau, expressed gratitude to the council for the opportunity. They pledged to diligently identify community needs, enlighten the public on government policies and programmes, and support development initiatives of the state government.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Rano Local Government Council, Alhaji Ahmad Jibrin, commended the transparent and equitable selection process, noting that the appointments were fairly distributed with ten Senior Special Assistants drawn from each of the ten wards of the local government area.
