No Intimidation Can Break Us – Kwankwasiyya Backs Resigning Loyalists

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has publicly applauded a wave of resignations by political appointees and elected officials, describing the action as a rare display of courage, principle, and loyalty to its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
In a strongly worded statement on Sunday, the Movement praised former commissioners, special advisers, special assistants, managing directors, executive secretaries, and other appointees who voluntarily stepped down from office in solidarity with Kwankwaso and the core ideals of the Kwankwasiyya philosophy.
According to the Movement, the resignations—taken despite the personal benefits attached to public office—underscore a commitment to integrity and selfless service over comfort and privilege.
The statement revealed that Senator Kwankwaso had earlier advised those who resigned to reconsider their decisions, citing their contributions to governance and institution-building. However, it noted that many stood by their choices, insisting that their personal convictions were incompatible with the current direction of the Gandujiyya-led Kano State government.
The Movement also commended the Deputy Governor, as well as loyal lawmakers at the Senate, House of Representatives, Kano State House of Assembly, and councillors across the state, for resisting what it described as “sustained pressure and inducements” from state and federal authorities.
Their steadfastness, the Movement said, has reinforced public confidence in representative democracy and principled leadership.
At the grassroots level, Kwankwasiyya extended special recognition to local government officials—including council secretaries, supervisory councillors, special advisers, and personal assistants—who resigned their positions, describing their actions as proof that the Movement’s strength lies beyond political offices.
“Kwankwasiyya is not built on positions or privileges, but on sacrifice, service, and the pursuit of social justice,” the statement declared, adding that history would favour those who stood firm at what it called a defining political moment.
While acknowledging members who remain in office for transitional or personal reasons, the Movement urged professionalism and restraint, warning against actions or statements capable of undermining its leader or ideals.
Signed by its spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the statement concluded with a note of defiance, insisting that no amount of pressure or intimidation could derail a movement “rooted in the will and aspirations of the people.”
