The Chairman of Malam Madori Local Government Council, Hon. Salisu Sani Garungabas, has approved the reinstatement of six staff who were previously removed from the council payroll.
The affected workers, who are on Grade Levels 10, 09, 07, 06 and 05, had been without salaries for more than one year, a situation that reportedly caused severe financial hardship for them and their families.
Sources within the council disclosed that their removal from the payroll was widely believed to be deliberate, with allegations linking the action to political differences at the local government level. However, no official misconduct was established against the workers.
Speaking during the reinstatement, Hon. Garungabas said investigations revealed that the affected staff were not guilty of any wrongdoing, thereby justifying their return to the payroll.
He urged the reinstated workers to remain committed to their duties and to justify the confidence reposed in them by the council administration through improved productivity and dedication to service.
The chairman also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness, transparency and the protection of workers’ rights within the local government system.
The development has been welcomed by staff and stakeholders, who described it as a step toward restoring confidence and justice in the council’s administrative processes.
