    Maitama Sule Varsity Council Chair Warns Against Actions Inimical To Peace

    The Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of the Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education,Prof. Adamu Ahmed, has warned that the council would not condone any actions that will disturb the peace in the institution.

    The warning is contained in a Communique issued at the end of the meeting of the council held on the university’s campus.

    The communique which was factored in the Internal Memo of the university as issued by Malam Sani Danladi Abubakar, the Registrar/Secretary to the council, also urged congressmen and women to cooperate with the council and the management of the university towards a successful transition of the institution to a full-fledged university.

    The communique also quoted Prof.Ahmed as informing the congregation that the Federal Government had approved the extension of tenure of the Acting Vice Chancellor by another one (1) month and ratified by the council.

    In his address, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university,Dr. Sadi Mohammed Sirajo, lauded members of the council for their commitment to the successful transition of the Institution to a full-fledged university.

    Sirajo noted that the Institution had been peaceful as academic and social activities had been going on smoothly.

    In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of the three Staff Unions of the institution,Comrade Ado A. M.,COEASU, Comrade Shuaibu Yawale,SSUCOEN and Comrade Bello Adamu,NASU, commended the efforts of the council and management of the university,and appealed for their continued support more especially on the issue of “staff right-sizing.”
