The League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse (LESPADA), Niger State Chapter, has intensified efforts to combat drug abuse with an advocacy visit to the Niger State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The delegation, led by the State Coordinator, Mohammed Aliyu, was received by the NDLEA Command Head, who described LESPADA as a sister organization and a critical partner in the shared goal of ridding Niger State of drug abuse. He praised the group for its consistent public sensitization, grassroots outreach, and community engagement initiatives.
During the meeting, the Command Head reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting LESPADA’s activities, assuring the delegation that NDLEA personnel would be readily available to participate in awareness campaigns and sensitization programmes across the state. He also encouraged regular engagement between both bodies, noting that closer collaboration would enable LESPADA to benefit from NDLEA’s experience and technical expertise. According to him, the agency’s doors remain open to the organization at all times.
The visit concluded with the presentation of advocacy flyers by LESPADA to the NDLEA Command Head, symbolizing the group’s continued support for joint awareness efforts aimed at curbing drug abuse in Niger State.
