The Kano State Government has again reaffirmed its commitment to workers’ welfare aimed at enhancing productivity.
Declaring open a 2 day industrial Relations Workshop organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kano State Council in collaboration with the Michael Imoudu Institute of Labour Studies, holding in Kaduna , the Head of Civil Service Malam Abdullahi Musa who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, said workers are key to national growth

He commended the NLC for organizing the training aimed at preparing retiring civil servants for life after service.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’ dwelt on his commitment to a professional and efficient civil service.

He noted the ₦27 billion payment of gratuity arrears, review of minimum pension from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000, and implementation of the ₦71,000 minimum wage.

“The government also reintroduced ASCON training for officers aspiring to managerial positions and continues to engage labour unions to maintain industrial harmony.” the Governor declared.

Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf urged the Participants to actively engage in the workshop to promote knowledge sharing and align with the state’s blueprint for a productive workforce.

The Director General of the Micheal Imodu labour Institute, Comrade Isa Aremu represented by Dr Michael Raji, described Governor Yusuf as a labour friendly governor.
He said the workshop will go along way in ensuring industrial peace.
The Chairman of NLC, Kano council, Comrade Kabiru Inuwa, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf for approving the construction of a N280m Hall to immortalize late Governor Muhammad Abubakar Rimi for setting the pace by daclaring workers day public holiday.
Comrade Inuwa said work on the project is on going, expressing confidence, it will be completed soon.
The NLC Acting Secretary, Comrade Hussaini Buda thanked invited guests and participants for making the training successful.

Dignitories include Permanent Secretary, Establishment at the office of the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Salisu Mustapha, Commissioner 1 at the pension fund Trustee, Alhaji Hassan Aminu and Malam Idris Inuwa Yakasai, a retired Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information.
