    *Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Corps Strengthens Collaboration with Nigerian Army*

    The Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Corps has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and enhancing security across the State through a strategic courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the 3rd Brigade, Bukavu Barracks, Kano.

    The Commander General of the Corps, Lt. Col. Aminu Yusuf Abdulmalik (Rtd), led a delegation on the visit as part of sustained efforts to build a more coordinated and effective security architecture through partnership with key security stakeholders.

    Speaking during the visit, the Commander General stated that the engagement was aimed at formally introducing the mandate and operational framework of the Corps, while also seeking to deepen cooperation with the Nigerian Army.

    He emphasized that the Corps was established to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies through intelligence gathering, community engagement, and proactive crime prevention at the grassroots level.

    He further noted that the evolving nature of security challenges requires a unified and collaborative approach, stressing that synergy among security agencies remains critical in ensuring the protection of lives and property across Kano State.

    The Commander General commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment and sacrifices in maintaining peace, stability, and security, describing the 3rd Brigade as a critical partner in the collective effort to safeguard communities.

    He expressed the Corps’ readiness to strengthen information sharing, improve operational coordination, and support the overall security framework of the State.

    He also sought the continued support and cooperation of the Brigade in advancing a more inclusive and community-driven security system.

    In his remarks, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ahmed M. Tukur appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders to enhance security and maintain peace within the State.

    He thanked the State Government under the leadership of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the strategic creation of the Corps, noting that Kano can be vulnerable to external forces been a Commercial Center, but with the creation of the Corps, it will complement security agencies.

    The visit underscores the Kano State Government’s broader commitment to fostering collaboration among security agencies and promoting collective responsibility in addressing security challenges.
