Kano Govt Rejects Media Report On Gida-Gida Mega City Project

The Kano State Government has denied a report published by an online news medium titled: “Kano Govt Unveils 480-Unit Gida-Gida Mega City,” describing the story as “Misleading.”
This is contained in a statement signed by Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry for Housing Development,Malam Adamu Abdullahi.
Reacting to the report, the State Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, FNIA, described the headline of the report as misleading.
Arc. Ibrahim Adamu explained that what transpired during the project inspection tour by the Nigerian Guild of Editors, journalists, and social media influencers was a presentation of the design and an inspection of the proposed project site.
Accordingly, he said,the delegation was taken around the layout for site inspection,and that the Commissioner briefed them on the execution plan for the project.
He noted that over ₦113 million has been approved for it, which includes infrastructure such as schools, a perimeter fence, mosque, market, fire station, police station, cemetery, and recreation centre.
The commissioner said arrangements are in top gear for His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 480 housing units at a later date.
He,therefore, enjoined media personnel to always cross check their facts before going to press in order to avoid any ambiguity that could mislead the general public.
