The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) has dispatched 1,250 Islamic preachers to various countries across the world to conduct this year’s annual Ramadan Tafsir, in a renewed effort to promote authentic Islamic teachings and strengthen the Ummah.
The National Secretary of the JIBWIS Committee on Tafsir, Malam Jamilu Maharazu Kankara, disclosed this during the ongoing Ramadan Tafsir at Kandahar Juma’at Mosque in Katsina.
According to him, the selected scholars were carefully screened and trained to ensure effective delivery of Quranic exegesis and propagation of the Sunnah in line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
He revealed that four preachers were deployed to the United States of America and another four to the United Kingdom, while Spain and Belgium each received two scholars.
Across Africa, Ghana received 12 preachers, Cameroon 19, Benin Republic 15, and Burkina Faso six. Niger Republic recorded the highest number with 263 Islamic preachers assigned to various communities.
Malam Kankara emphasized that the initiative underscores JIBWIS’ commitment to spreading sound Islamic knowledge, correcting misconceptions, and fostering unity among Muslims globally during the holy month of Ramadan.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of JIBWIS, Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan, called on wealthy individuals and organizations to intensify support for the less privileged, particularly orphans and widows, during Ramadan.
He urged Muslims to remain united and steadfast in protecting their faith and promoting peaceful coexistence.
Sheikh Yakubu expressed concern over the emergence of a sect identified as “Kalakato,” which he alleged is propagating teachings contrary to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He appealed to the government to take necessary measures to address the activities of the group in the interest of Islam and societal peace.
The cleric reaffirmed the importance of unity among Muslims, stressing that collective responsibility and adherence to authentic teachings remain vital to the strength and stability of the Ummah.
The global deployment of scholars by JIBWIS is widely seen as a significant Ramadan initiative aimed at deepening religious understanding and reinforcing moral values across communities.
