For His Stance Against Insecurity,PCRC Appoints Alasan Doguwa Grand Patron

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

In recognition of his stance against the lingering insecurity in the country, the National Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) under the leadership of
Alhaji Ibrahim Mogaji Olaniyan, has appointed the Chairman,House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Grand Patron of the Committee.

Olaniyan, who is the PCRC’s National Chairman, had earlier met with Doguwa in Kano and deliberated on the perennial security situation in the North and the country, and explained that the lawmaker’s appointment was informed by his constant voicing of concern against insecurity, during proceedings on the floor of the House.

Represented by his National Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Sadiq Wada, Olaniyan said:”You stand up with full courage on the floor of the House of Representatives to, without any fear or favour, speak against the problem of insecurity facing the country, including your calls for the shutting down of the National Assembly, if that will bring peace to the country,” the national chairman said.

According to him,the PCRC, which has 11 Area Commands, State Commands, Divisions and Outposts across the Federation, is working assiduously to ensure the achievement peace all over the country.

He said the PCRC had overtime compiled series of Doguwa’s efforts at ensuring that there is peace in the North and Kano in particular.

“We are also witnesses to the fact that Alhassan Doguwa was among the brains behind the creation of the Army Formation at Falgore forest that had been infested by bandits and other criminals, and this has brought absolute peace in the area,” Olaniyan said.

He also stated that Rep Doguwa’s distribution of hundreds of security equipment, including vehicles all over Kano State, helped in the attainment of peace and security in the state.

Also speaking at the occasion,a former member of the National Assembly,Senator Masaud El-Jibrin Doguwa, said Falgore forest which is domiciled in Tudunwada and Doguwa Local Government Areas spans up to Sambisa and other deadly forests along the belt, is now witnessing peace and security, courtesy of Alasan Doguwa’s efforts.

He said the Federal Government had solved over 70 percent of the nation’s security problems, having heeded to the series of Rep Doguwa’s advice.

Responding,Rep Doguwa said the PCRC members deserved every commendation,as they had laid down their lives to ensure peace and security across the country without receiving salaries or allowances.

He said today even in the National Assembly, not every lawmaker can stand and talk about insecurity, because many are afraid to do so, adding that his voicing against insecurity is helping both President Tinubu and the Governors in their efforts to contain insecurity in the country.

He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his outstanding efforts in tackling insecurity, as he inherited strategies of security networking from his predecessor,Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and is building on them.
