Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, have resumed camping in Abuja as preparations intensify for their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Senegal.
A statement signed by Zulfat Abubakar Rano, Media officer, U-20 women National Team says the camp opened on Saturday, January 4, 2026, at the Westpoint Hotel, Abuja, marking the start of an intensive training programme aimed at ensuring full readiness for the crucial fixture.
Seventeen players are currently in camp, while additional invited players are expected to arrive in the coming days to complete the squad , Zulfat Rano explained.
According to the statement, training sessions have commenced in earnest, focusing on team cohesion, tactical organisation and physical conditioning.
Rano, quoted the Head Coach, Moses Aduku, as confirming that preparations were on course, explaining that the technical crew was conducting continuous assessments of players while fine-tuning training programmes to enhance tactical discipline, game intelligence and overall team organisation.
Nigeria will host the first leg of the third-round qualifying fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, while the return leg will be played on Saturday, February 14, in Dakar, Senegal.
The 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals will be hosted by Poland.
