Ex-Rep Sharada Joins Kano Central Senatorial Race,Urges Free, Fair Contest

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

Former member of the House of Representatives,Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, has joined the race for the Kano Central Senatorial District with a call on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to ensure a free and fair conduct of the forthcoming senatorial primaries.

Sharada, who represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the immediate past National Assembly, made the request when he paid a visit to the APC State Secretariat on Thursday and declared his interest to contest for the Kano Central Senatorial Seat.

“I appeal to the national leadership of our great party to, for the sake of Allah(SWT) and His Prophet Muhammad(SAW), ensure fair play in our forthcoming primary election,” he said, amid thunderous applause from his supporters and loyalists.

He explained that his decision to contest for the Kano Central Senatorial position was borne out of his desire to contribute to the growth and development of the area, drawing his rich pedigree as a former member of the House of Representatives.

Fondly called Dan Karamin Sauro(small mosquitoe), Sharada said if elected,he would use his vast experience and connections to bring programmes that would better the lives of the people of the zone.

“By the grace of Allah(SWT) I will be next Senator to represent Kano Central in the National Assembly, and I promise that I will not fail my constituents,” he said.

He also pledged to work for the growth of the APC and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu alongside Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to enable them to continue with the impactful programmes they have been implementing.

Welcoming the aspirant, the State Chairman of the APC,Hon.Umar Haruna Doguwa, described Sharada as a man of the people who had always worked for their progress.

Doguwa assured that the APC would ensure a level playing ground for all aspirants contesting for various positions on the platform of the party.
