APC Replies ADC, Says Kebbi Projects “Speak Louder Than Questions”

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Kebbi State Chapter has dismissed the African Democratic Congress, ADC’s queries on the state’s finances, saying Governor Nasir Idris’ administration has delivered visible projects across the state in the last three years.

Addressing journalists at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, the State Acting APC Chairman, Hon. Adamu Mudi Augi, said the ADC’s first major press briefing devoted to “where the money went” was an insult to the intelligence of Kebbi people who can see roads, schools, hospitals and housing estates constructed under Governor Idris.

Hon. Augi listed achievements to include the dualisation of the Birnin Kebbi-Ambursa Road, rehabilitation of hundreds of schools, establishment of mega science and skills boarding schools in Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru, procurement of over 1 million textbooks, and recruitment of 2,000 teachers.

He also cited the upgrade of 30 general hospitals and primary healthcare centres, construction of additional hospitals, recruitment of thousands of health workers, and the ongoing 250-unit Kauran Gwandu Housing Estate.

On agriculture, the Acting Chairman said the government had distributed free inputs, fertilizer, seeds and solar-powered pumps under the Kaura Agricultural Development and Growth Agenda. He added that the new minimum wage had been implemented and inherited pensions and gratuities cleared, all without borrowing.

Hon. Augi, however, turned the spotlight on ADC’s state leader, former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, referencing a July 2026 Federal High Court order for the final forfeiture of 48 properties worth billions of naira linked to him. He noted that 57 properties valued at about N213 billion were earlier affected by interim proceedings.

The APC challenged the ADC to “debate performance, not invent a fiscal mystery” and said the Idris administration’s records are open to inspection.

“Let them first answer for the money that courts have already linked to assets now belonging to the Nigerian people. The people of Kebbi are the witnesses. They will not be lectured into blindness by people of questionable pedigree,” he said.
