2027:Gov Yusuf Tasks Polling Units Executives On Tinubu/Abba Re-election

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has charged his Polling Units Executives to work assiduously to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yusuf also urged the Polling Units Leaders whom are also members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) drawn from the 44 local government areas of the state,to ensure his re-election as the Governor of the State to enable him to continue in office.

The Governor gave the charge during a meeting with the Polling Units Executives also known as “Yan Akwatina” at the Government House,Kano,on Wednesday.

“I urge you to go and moblise the people in your respective areas to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections to enable him to consolidate on his development strides in the country.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done so much in his efforts to develop the country in the last three years, particularly in the provision of infrastructure and economic revival, and therefore, needs your votes in 2027 to enable him to sustain and improve on such development programmes,” he said.

Yusuf also urged the grassroots leaders to ensure his re-election in the 2027 governorship polls so as to continue with his people-oriented programmes in the state.

Such programmes the governor said, include the provision of infrastructure, health care, education, agricultural development and water supply.

“You should also ensure the protection of the votes cast for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and I, your Governor, during the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The Governor then announced the allocation of plot of land to each of the Polling Units Executives as an empowerment to enhance their wellbeing.

He said that the plots would be distributed to them soonest, explaining that the gesture was meant to empower them and appreciate their support and commitment to his administration.

He also announced the release of the sum of N100 million to the polling units leaders to enable them to take care of their immediate needs.

The two announcements were greeted with thunderous ovations from the beneficiaries, many of whom sang and danced in praise of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yusuf will be contesting for a second term, this time on the platform of the APC, having defected from his former party, the NNPP, alongside his followers, earlier in the year.

He has picked his newly-appointed Deputy, Murtala Sule Garo,to be his running mate for the 2027 governorship poll in the state.
