2027:APC Clears Gov. Yusuf For Second Term

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

The All Progressives Congress(APC) has cleared Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to contest for a second term in the 2027 governorship election.

This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

The clearance followed the successful screening of Governor Yusuf by the National Working Committee of the APC after submitting his nomination and screening forms.

The National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda, who led the screening committee at the Plateau Governor’s lodge, said the party confirmed that Governor Yusuf has satisfied all requirements to contest for a second term.

Following the screening exercise, he was declared, so far as the sole contender for the APC governorship ticket in Kano State ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking shortly after the exercise, governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in him.

He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy and sustaining policies that promote peace, economic growth and inclusive development across Kano State.

The governor urged members and supporters of the APC to remain united and continue working together for the progress of the state and victory in 2027, the statement added.
