    Buhari Explains Why He Will Miss President Tinubu Mother’s Qur’anic Recitation Competition

    Former President Muhammadu Buhari has explained his inability to attend the Grand Finale of a Qur’anic Recitation Competition organized in honour of the Late Mother of President Bola Tinubu, Hajiya Abibatu M. Tinubu.

    Buhari was invited to be a Special Guest of Honour of the Grand Finale of the Qur’anic Recitation Competition Organized by Senator Basheer Lado,CON, and scheduled to take place in Kano today, Saturday, May 31,2025.

    However, in a letter addressed to Senator Basheer Lado, the former President explained that he cannot attend the event as previously agreed due to his scheduled Medical check-up abroad.

    In the Letter which was signed by Ambassador Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure, dated 25th May 2025, and titled:”Office of Muhammadu Buhari Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Re:Invitation As Special Guest of Honour To Quranic Recitation Competition in Honour of Late Hajiya Abibatu M. Tinubu,” Buhari regretted missing the epic Islamic ritual.

    Kazaure said: “I am directed to refer to your letter reference SAP/NASS/SEN/178, dated dated 12th April 2025 and 12th May 2025 respectively, regarding the Aforementioned subject. I regret to inform you that Former President Muhammadu Buhari is unable to attend the event as previously agreed due to his scheduled medical check-up abroad.

    Ambassador Kazaure said, ” in this regard, he extends his best wishes for a successful event and conveys his regards to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire Tinubu Family.”

    In the letter,the former President also prayed that the soul of Hajiya Abibatu Tinubu will continue to rest in Jannatul Firdausi, and asked the organizer of the competition,Senator Basheer Lado, to extend his best wishes to President Tinubu.
