2027:KMT Movement To Remain In APC

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, members of the Kashim Musa Tumsah (KMT) movement have resolved to remain in the All Progressives Congress(APC).
A statement signed by the Spokesperson of the KMT, Abubakar Ahmed, said members of the movement representing the various KMT support groups in Yobe State took the decision having “reviewed the ongoing political journey and plans
for the forthcoming elections in the best interest of the movement and Yobe
State.”
At the meeting which was held in Kaduna on Saturday 3rd October 2026, the
movement also resolved “to explore various options, opportunities and forms of
cooperation in the political space with the commitment to remain in APC and
the objective to ensure the success and re-election of President Bola Ahmed
Tinubu, GCFR and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, GCON in the forthcoming Presidential elections which remains paramount and unshaken,” the statement said.
“All heads of our the various groups,
organizations and sections across all the political parties will hold further
meetings and consultations with their respective members and followers on
the next steps and directions for the upcoming gubernatorial campaigns and
elections, and to report back to the KMT Movement Secretariat within the
next seven (7) days.
“The movement will await the outcome of the various court cases on the
challenged Yobe State botched APC gubernatorial primaries, stating
categorically and in no ambiguous terms that Yobe State, our supporters
and indeed the interests of the citizens of Yobe State will remain the main
element and factor in deciding the way forward on the Gubernatorial
elections
“The meeting which was also attended by the most popular governorship
aspirant in the last May, 2026 botched governorship primary election in Yobe
State, Barr. Kashim Musa Tumsah was fully represented by the groups
leaders who have been charged to go back and fully enlighten their members
on the way forward,” the statement added.
