Kebbi APC Reinstates Kana-Zuru As State Chairman After 3 Months

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has reinstated Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru as its State Chairman, three months after his suspension from office.

The decision was announced on Thursday at the APC State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, following a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party.

The State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Assalafi, who disclosed this while briefing journalists, said the SWC reviewed the circumstances surrounding the suspension and resolved to revoke it with immediate effect.

He recalled that Kana-Zuru was suspended on June 20, 2026, following Resolution No. KSWC/010/2026 adopted by the SWC.

According to a new resolution adopted at the SWC meeting held on October 1, 2026, at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, the suspension has been revoked.

The resolution states: “That the suspension of Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru from the office of State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kebbi State, pursuant to Resolution No. KSWC/010/2026 dated 20th June 2026, is hereby revoked with immediate effect.”

Consequently, Alhaji Kana-Zuru has been fully reinstated and is to resume the full functions, powers, duties and responsibilities attached to the office of State Chairman.

The resolution also terminated the interim arrangement under which the Deputy State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie, had been performing the functions of Acting State Chairman.

“Accordingly, Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie shall cease to act as Acting State Chairman and shall resume his substantive office as Deputy State Chairman,” Assalafi said.

He added that all official records, documents, correspondence and instruments relating to the office of the State Chairman are to be handed over to and revert to Alhaji Kana-Zuru forthwith.

The SWC also directed the State Secretary to formally communicate the resolution to the National Headquarters of the party and other appropriate organs for information, record and necessary action in accordance with the APC Constitution.

Assalafi emphasized that the resolution takes effect immediately upon adoption and reflects the authority of the duly constituted organs of the party to review its decisions in line with its constitution and established procedures.

He called on all party organs, officials, members and stakeholders to recognize and respect the resolution as Alhaji Kana-Zuru resumes his constitutional responsibilities as State Chairman.
