Independence Anniversary: Iliyasu Kwankwaso Hails President Tinubu’s Address,Welcomes Emphasis On Economic Reforms, Others
    By Abdullahi Yusuf
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for laying emphasis on economic reforms, job creation, industrial development, agriculture and social support programmes in his nationwide broadcast to mark Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary.
Kwankwaso, in a statement, said the president’s speech demonstrated his clear commitment to addressing some of the country’s longstanding challenges.
He also hailed the efforts of the Tinubu administration to reposition Nigeria’s economy and lay the foundation for sustainable prosperity.
He said the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration required difficult decisions, noting that the President’s latest address provided an opportunity for Nigerians to assess the direction of the country and the measures being taken to strengthen the economy.
According to the APC bigwig, the President’s focus on reducing the cost of living, improving agricultural production, expanding infrastructure and creating opportunities for young Nigerians is particularly important to the country’s long-term development.
The Executive Director Finance Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), also commended the administration’s emphasis on supporting vulnerable Nigerians through social intervention programmes, education financing and access to credit.
He said programmes aimed at improving access to education, healthcare and productive assets could help create greater opportunities for low-income families and young Nigerians.
Kwankwaso further welcomed the President’s call for Nigerians to remain united and focused on building a country where economic opportunities and prosperity are broadly shared.
“Nigeria’s large population, natural resources and youthful workforce provided the country with significant potential for economic growth if supported by appropriate policies, infrastructure and investment just like that of the Present administration of President Tinubu,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to support efforts aimed at strengthening the economy and creating an environment where businesses could grow, young people could find productive employment and farmers could increase food production.
The APC bigwig also called for continued attention to the challenges facing ordinary Nigerians, particularly the cost of food, transportation, education and healthcare.
He stated that the transition from economic reforms to broader prosperity would require sustained implementation of government policies and cooperation among the Federal, state and local governments.
He congratulated Nigerians on the 66th anniversary of the nation’s independence and expressed optimism that the country could achieve greater economic prosperity through unity, hard work and responsible leadership.
The APC stalwart then urged Nigerians to renew their hopes in President Tinubu’s second term by voting massively to continue the economic reform journey, assuring the citizens of a good future ahead.
