The Kano State Council of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has felicitated with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, his Deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo workers, pensioners and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In a Sallah message jointly signed by the Acting Chairman, Comrade Nura Rimin Gado, and Acting Secretary, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, the council commended the Kano State Government for prioritising workers’ welfare, particularly the approval of the ₦20,000 support package for civil servants.

The council expressed optimism that the gesture would be extended to pensioners in recognition of their years of meritorious service to the state.

The NLC described Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as a labour-friendly leader, citing the administration’s efforts in addressing over ₦32 billion pension liabilities and expressing confidence that the remaining backlog would be cleared in line with government commitments.

The council also highlighted the ongoing construction of a 280 Million Naira Multi purpose conference hall to immortalize Former Governor Muhammad Abubakar Rimi calling on the contractor to speed up completion.

While urging workers to reciprocate government support through dedication, productivity and professionalism, the council called on civil servants to remain committed to efficient service delivery and avoid actions capable of undermining the integrity and reputation of the public service.

The labour centre also extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Isma’il Falgore, the entire workforce, pensioners and the Muslim faithful, wishing them a peaceful, joyful and rewarding Sallah celebration.
