Prominent Islamic scholars in Kano State have called on the state government to increase support for the Hisbah Board to enhance its effectiveness in promoting moral values and maintaining societal order.IMG 20260406 WA0192

The call was made during a Sallah courtesy visit led by the Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen Abubakar, who represented the Commander-General, Sheikh Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Daurawa explained that the engagement was aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between the Hisbah Board and Islamic scholars, acknowledging their vital contributions to societal development.

He commended the scholars for their impactful sermons during the Ramadan period, noting that their teachings had reinforced the principles of enjoining good and forbidding evil. He urged them to sustain their support for the Board through continued cooperation and prayers.

Also speaking, the Acting Commander-General in charge of Training and Discipline, Dr. Jamilu Ajiya, emphasized the critical role scholars play in the activities of the Board. According to him, scholars remain central to the implementation of Islamic law and the continued relevance of the Hisbah institution.

In their separate remarks, the scholars expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Board. They advised Hisbah personnel to remain dedicated, patient, and sincere in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The scholars further appealed to the state government to provide additional support to the Board, particularly in the areas of operational equipment and improved welfare packages for its personnel.

They noted that the activities of the Hisbah Board have significantly contributed to the relative peace and stability being enjoyed in Kano State.

Among the scholars visited were Professor Sheikh Umar Sani Fagge, Sheikh Abdulwahab Abdallah, Sheikh Abubakar Umar Kandahar, and Sheikh Nasiru Muhammad Adam, Chairman of the Council of Imams.

The visit concluded with the presentation of copies of the Holy Qur’an and letters of appreciation to the scholars, while senior officials of the Hisbah Board accompanied the delegation.
