The newly appointed Commissioner for Higher, Technical and Vocational Education in Katsina State, Alhaji Sani Aliyu, has officially assumed office, pledging to strengthen the state’s education sector and improve staff welfare.
The commissioner was received at the ministry by the Permanent Secretary, Safiya Ya’u Yamel, alongside directors and other senior officials.
In her welcome remarks, Yamel expressed delight over his appointment, noting that staff of the ministry had warmly received the news. She revealed that since the announcement, the ministry had continued to receive congratulatory messages from various stakeholders, which she described as a clear sign of confidence in his leadership.
She assured the commissioner of the ministry’s full cooperation and support, reaffirming the commitment of staff to work closely with him in advancing the ministry’s objectives and contributing to the development agenda of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
In his remarks, Sani Aliyu thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him, promising to justify the trust by delivering on his mandate. He pledged to work diligently to improve higher, technical and vocational education in the state, while addressing the challenges facing the sector.
The commissioner also assured staff of an open-door policy and called for teamwork and cooperation to achieve the ministry’s goals and support the overall development of Katsina State.
Members of his entourage, including political associates, community leaders, friends and traditional rulers from his local government area, also spoke at the event. They congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and commended Governor Radda for his choice.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman of Baure Local Government Area described Sani Aliyu as a dedicated and capable leader, urging staff of the ministry to support him in order to ensure success in his new role.
