The Chairman of the Kano Science Schools Old Students Association (KASSOSA), class 82, Alhaji Yahaya Abba Kazaure, has stressed the need for members of the association to consistently support widows and families of deceased colleagues.

Speaking at the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association held at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Alhaji Yahaya Abba expressed concern over the plight of some widows who, he said, have been left without adequate support following the death of their spouses.

He lamented that despite the strong bond among members, there were cases where families of deceased members were struggling, calling on the association to strengthen its welfare and intervention mechanisms.
The chairman disclosed that in 2024, the class chapter provided assistance to widows of deceased members as well as other members facing serious challenges, describing the gesture as part of the association’s collective responsibility and compassion.
Alhaji Yahaya Abba also commended the generosity of a member who donated ₦1 million to support members in need, describing the contribution as timely and exemplary.
In another show of commitment to the association and its alma mater, a member, Salisu Idris
, pledged to print 250 exercise books and 500 stickers for the school.
The AGM also featured special prayers for the repose of the souls of 38 deceased members, as participants prayed for unity, progress, and continued support for one another.
