The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
The decision follows a protracted leadership crisis that has persisted within the Council despite several intervention efforts aimed at restoring peace, fostering harmonious working relationships, and ensuring a conducive administrative atmosphere.
By this directive, the Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all members of the Board, including Ex-Officio members, are hereby relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement released by the press secretary, office of the secretary to the state Government, Musa Tanko Mohammad on Saturday.
While conveying the Governor’s decision, the Secretary to the State Government , Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, directed all affected officials to formally hand over the activities of their respective offices, along with all government properties in their possession, to the most senior officer of the Council not later than the close of official hours on Monday, 27th October, 2025.
The SSG further stated that all handover documents are to be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government — Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate — and to the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Investment and Commerce
