Thousands Attend Idris Dankabo’s 3rd Day Prayer Held In Kano

The third day prayer for the late Sarkin Gabas, District Head of Kabo in Kano State,Alhaji Idris Adamu Dankabo, was held on Sunday in Kano.

The prayer which was led by Malam Umar Ali,among other Islamic Scholars, was held at the residence of the late father of the deceased,Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo.

During the prayer session which was attended by thousands of sympathizers from far and near, featured verses from the Holy Qur’an which were read for the late District Head, his late father, Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, alongside his mother.

Those who paid condolence visit to the family of the deceased included former Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and the Special Assistant Media to President Bola Tinubu,Abdul’Aziz Abdul’Aziz, and Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Others were renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly,Hon.Kabiru Alasan Rurum.

Aged 48, the traditional ruler, died on Thursday night following a motor accident in Kano metropolis.

His funeral prayer was held at Kofar Kudu of the Emir’s Palace on Friday, and it was led by the Emir, Muhammadu Sunusi II,with thousands of people in attendance.

Late Idris was the eldest son of the Chairman of the defunct Kabo Air Limited, and Jarma of Kano, late Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo.

The Dankabo family is regarded as one of Kano’s most influential, with the late patriarch, Alhaji Adamu Dankabo, playing a prominent role in business, politics and philanthropy.

Kabo Air, which he established in 1980, operated domestic, regional, and international flights before scaling down operations in the 2000s, focusing mainly on charter and Hajj services.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu DanKabo was among the pioneer private Airline operators in Nigeria.

With five Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets in the fleet of Kabo Air Limited, Dankabo was the most successful pioneer and sole owner of Africa’s largest fleet of long range private jet liner

The title of Sarkin Gabas, held by the late Idris Dankabo, is one of the senior positions within the Kano Emirate hierarchy, carrying cultural and administrative responsibilities.

His death at a relatively young age is expected to leave a gap in the traditional leadership structure of the emirate, which remains one of the most influential in Northern Nigeria.
