The Kano State Government says ongoing roads rehabilitation and upgrading under the Kano Urban renewal programme will be completed by December.
The state commissioner of works, Engr. Marwan Ahmed, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists on Monday.
According to Ahmed, the projects are supposed to be completed within three months, but that due to some reasons, they will now be completed in December this year.
“We are supposed to deliver the projects in October but due to some reasons, they will now be delivered in December,” he said.
According to him, the projects which are about 11 in number, would facilitate human and vehicular movement within the city, when completed.
“The road rehabilitation and upgrading projects are being executed at Murtala Mohammed Way, Club road, Sharada, Audu Bako Way and Wudil road, among others,” he said.
The Commissioner, who restated the commitment of the State Government towards providing the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state, called for their cooperation and understanding so as to achieve the desired results.
“The Kano State Government is committed to ensuring that all the ongoing roads rehabilitation and upgrading under the urban renewal program are executed according to specifications and within the time frame,” he said.
He also disclosed that the multi-billion Naira Tal’udu and Dan’agundi Interchange flyovers and bridges would be completed in December, dismissing speculations that the deadline might not be attained.
Engr. Marwan Ahmed said work is going on smoothly at the two project sites towards meeting the time frame.
