Kano Govt Pledges To Bring 3 Housing Units To International Standard

    By Abdullahi Yusuf

Kano state Government has pledged to make its three Housing units of Kwankwasiyya, Amana and Bandirawo cities that will march international standard.

This contained in a statement signed by
Adamu Abdullahi,Director Public Enlightenment, state Ministry for Housing Development.

Abdullahi quoted the state Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, as making the statement when he received the representatives of Kwankwasiyya City Owners and Residents Association who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Arc Adamu said that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was s poised to make the three cities and any other housing units that may come up in Kano to stand the test of time.

He highlighted that many infrastructure facilities such as portable water, steady electricity supply, mosques, schools and other basic needs, which made the cities comfortable for habitation, were provided by the administration.

Responding to the request earlier made by the Association, the commissioner advised the association through its leadership to mobilise their members to respond favourably to the notice issued to house owners by the government to complete their houses and occupy or rent them off.

He said the government had received complaints from those who have paid hundred per cent but were allocated with uncompleted houses.

He assured that the government would surely do justice to those affected by such problem of allocation.

Earlier, the interim chairman of the Kwankwasiyya City Owners and Residents Association, Alhaji Auwalu Inuwa Diso, expressed the appreciation of his members to the government for making the estate comfortable for habitation.

Inuwa added that from the time when the government issued the completion notice, a huge number of people moved in while others rented out their own.

He appealed to the government through the commissioner to consider their plight and give them more time to meet the required results demanded from them.
