Two delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Katsina State have lost their lives in a ghastly road accident while travelling to Kaduna State for the party’s North-West Congress.
The deceased, identified as Dalhatu Machika and Nazifi Sani, were among delegates from Sabuwa Local Government Area heading to attend the regional political gathering when the accident occurred.
The crash also involved a former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Umar Damari, and the APC Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government Area, both of whom sustained injuries. They are currently receiving treatment at Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, visited the injured victims at the hospital, where he extended his condolences to the families of the deceased party members.
The governor also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and assured them of the state government’s support during this difficult period.
Governor Radda was accompanied on the visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, the Chief of Staff to the Government House, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and other top government officials.
