The newly-appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, says it is a difficult task playing for the club as well as managing its affairs.
“It is a very difficult job playing for Kano Pillars and at the same time managing the affairs of the club, but I will do my best to combine the twin tasks to move the club forward,” Musa declared.
He made the remarks while addressing his maiden press conference at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, on Thursday.
At the briefing, the Super Eagles captain unveiled a nine-point Agenda aimed at restoring the past glory of the club, including scouting for sponsorship and fans engagement.
He said Kano Pillars would not settle for mediocrity in the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, adding, “We are going for the trophy this time around,” and urged fans and other stakeholders of the club to rally round the “SAI MASU GIDA”.
As part of his reform agenda, Musa stressed the urgent need for financial backing, pointing out that while government support was being sought to stabilize the club, the management had already initiated talks with several private companies for long-term sponsorship deals.
Musa then promised a transparent and inclusive approach to team management, saying that every player would be given a fair chance to contribute to the team’s success.
The former Leicester City and Al Nassr forward said the club is now focused on steps aimed at avoiding last season’s disappointments.
“We have already taken measures to avoid a repeat of our past failures,” the General Manager added.
