The Kano State Police Command has arrested a “notorious” drug dealer, Sulaiman Danwawu,as part of its efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bokori, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on the activities of the command on Friday in Kano.

Bakori said the 32-year-old suspect hailed from Tudun Yola Quarters of Kano city.

“The suspect appears to be a recidivist and an unrepentant serial offender, as he was earlier arrested on 31st July 2022, by the Command with 500 cartons of the same suspected Tramadol Tablets and charged to court accordingly,” he said.

He also announced that the command had arrested a suspected notorious armed robber
with two Beretta Pistols and ten rounds of live ammunition.

As a whole, the commissioner said, between 23rd April and 9th May 2025, the command had arrested a total of 78 suspects and recovered various exhibits including firearms, dangerous weapons, illicit drugs and stolen properties.

“These achievements are testaments to the facts that the above strategies are a masterpiece in crime fighting and have helped to confront the triggers of crimes particularly drug trafficking and abuse, heads-on.

“In a corresponding impact, the menace of thuggery (Fadan- Daba), mobile phone snatching, armed robbery, car theft and other violent criminal activities affecting the State have been reduced drastically.

“I want to assure you that the Kano State Police Command will remain resolute and steadfast in ensuring that peace continues to prevail in the State.

“While I appreciate the continued support of the good media teams and law-abiding people in the State, I encourage everyone to keep cooperating with the Police by being proactive in providing valuable information that will aid in addressing any likely emerging security threats that could jeopardize safety and security of lives and property, and the peaceful atmosphere of the State,” he added.
