A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Abdulaziz Maturaka, has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a party of “frustrated politicians” struggling to gain power for survival.
Maturaka made the remarks during the disbursement of N10.5 million as a Ramadan gesture to party members, youths, women, and traditional rulers in Katsina.
He insisted that the ADC does not pose any threat to the ruling APC, expressing confidence that Nigerians would re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC governors in the 2027 general elections.
“We are not afraid of the emergence of ADC as an opposition party. It is being run by frustrated politicians struggling to acquire power by all means,” Maturaka said.
He commended President Tinubu for what he described as efforts to transform the lives of Nigerians through the implementation of various economic policies.
“President Tinubu has done well within the last two and a half years. Nigerians should give him another chance to consolidate on the recorded achievements,” he added.
Earlier, Katsina State Governor, Umar Dikko Radda, praised Maturaka for his humanitarian assistance to the needy, orphans, and other vulnerable persons.
Radda said his administration was proud of Maturaka’s contributions, particularly in supporting party members and providing inputs for the smooth implementation of government policies and programmes.
The governor, who officially launched the disbursement of the financial assistance, urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds. He also commended wealthy individuals and elected officials for supporting vulnerable groups during the month of Ramadan.
In his remarks, Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Ishaq Migidad A.D. Saude, lauded Governor Radda for appointing indigenes of the area into key government positions. He cited the endorsement of Bishir Gambo Saulawa as State Chairman of the APC and the appointment of Manir Ayuba as Commissioner as examples of the governor’s inclusive leadership.
