A group, The Kwankwasiyya Professionals Forum(KPF),has asked the immediate past Secretary to the Kano State Government, Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, to retract his alleged defamatory statement and apologize to the leader of the Kwankwasiyya political movement, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The Forum made the request in a Communique issued at the end of its two-day stakeholders’ meeting held in Kano.
In the Communique signed by its Chairman, Comrade Haruna Musa Gaza, the group condemned Bichi’s alleged unguarded, malicious and defamatory statements against Sen.Kwankwaso.
“We view these statements as a blatant attempt to provoke violence, incite hatred and undermine Dr. Kwankwaso’s legacy and contributions to our great state and the nation at large.
“We have resolved to institute legal proceedings against Abdullahi Baffa Bichi for his defamatory remarks. We will exhaust all available legal avenues to hold him accountable for his actions and ensure that justice is served.
“We serve notice on Baffa Bichi to retract his statements and apologize to Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to do so will leave us with no choice but to seek justice through the courts, and we will pursue this matter to its logical conclusion,” it said.
The group said Kwankwaso is a respected leader, politician and philanthropist who had made immense contributions to the development of the country.
It said that Kwankwaso’s integrity, vision and leadership had inspired millions of Nigerians, warning that “we will not stand idle while his character is being attacked.”
“We call on all Kwankwasiyya supporters, members, and well-meaning Nigerians to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding in the face of these provocations. We urge restraint and caution, and we will not be swayed by attempts to provoke the good people of Kano into violence.
“Furthermore, we acknowledge the efforts of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, of embarking on laudable projects in Kano State. We commend his administration’s commitment to development and progress.
“We call on all good people of Kano State to continue supporting the administration’s laudable projects. Together, we can build a brighter future for our state and the nation,”the Forum added.
NewsFair recalls that Dr Bichi had
in a viral video alleged that part of the reasons he was removed from office by Governor Abba Yusuf was that he was directed to give N2 billion monthly to Dr Kwankwaso, which he refused, but that the governor pleaded with him over the issue.
The issue became a subject of discussion on several radio stations and other media platforms.
