The Kano Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has renewed its commitment to aggressively combat drug abuse across the state.

The Commander of the Kano Strategic Command, CN DY Lawal, stated this while receiving the Executive Director of the League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse (LESPADA), Ambassador Maryam Hassan, on a courtesy visit. He highlighted the significant strides recorded by the agency in tackling drug abuse, stressing that the fight against illicit drugs is a collective responsibility that requires the involvement of all stakeholders.

CN Lawal noted that the NDLEA cannot succeed in the fight alone and therefore called on members of the public to provide useful information, assuring that all intelligence received would be treated with the utmost confidentiality. He further assured that the command would leave no stone unturned in collaborating with LESPADA to rid society of drug abuse.

Earlier, Ambassador Maryam Hassan commended the command for its unwavering commitment and zeal in confronting the activities of drug traffickers, describing the NDLEA’s efforts as critical to safeguarding communities, especially the youth.

A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, quoted the Commander as underscoring the importance of a community-driven approach in winning the war against drug abuse.
