Kano NLC Mourns as Two Lawmakers Die Same Day, Describes Loss as “Deeply Painful”
A wave of grief has swept across Kano State following the shocking death of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Honorable Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo of Ungogo Constituency and Honorable Sarki Aliyu Daneji of Kano Municipal, who both passed away on the same day.
The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) expressed profound shock and sorrow over the tragic development, describing it as a painful and heartbreaking loss not only to the legislature but to the entire people of Kano State.
In a condolence message jointly signed by the NLC Chairman, Comrade Kabiru Inuwa, and the Acting Secretary, Comrade Hussaini Buda, the labour union said the demise of the two lawmakers has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
According to the statement, Honorable Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Honorable Sarki Aliyu Daneji were known for their commitment, versatility, and dedication to the responsibilities entrusted to them by their constituents, noting that they served with passion and a deep sense of duty.
The NLC condoled with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf; the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Falgore; and the Emir of Kano, His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II, over the irreparable loss. The message also extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Ungogo and Kano Municipal local government areas, as well as the entire people of Kano State.
Praying for divine mercy, the labour union asked Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased lawmakers, grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and give their families, colleagues, and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
The passing of the two lawmakers on the same day has cast a dark shadow over Kano, leaving many in disbelief and mourning the loss of leaders described as voices of the people and servants of the public good.
