The Forum of Former Managing Directors of Kano State Agencies and Parastatals who served between 2015 and 2023 has congratulated former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on his appointment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 31, 2026, the forum described Ganduje’s appointment, particularly his responsibility for mobilising senior citizens and other critical stakeholders, as a recognition of his long-standing political experience, statesmanship and extensive national network.
The former managing directors said Ganduje’s political career, spanning his service as Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, two-term Deputy Governor, Governor of Kano State and National Chairman of the APC, had positioned him as an experienced political leader capable of undertaking the assignment.
The forum said its members, having served as chief executives of various Kano State agencies, parastatals and corporations during Ganduje’s administration between 2015 and 2023, had firsthand experience of his approach to institutional development, operational efficiency and grassroots mobilisation.
According to the statement, the responsibility of mobilising senior citizens, elder statesmen and other key stakeholders for the 2027 presidential campaign requires political maturity, credibility, institutional knowledge and the ability to build consensus across different constituencies.
The former agency heads expressed confidence that Ganduje’s extensive political relationships and experience in consensus-building would enable him to deliver effectively on the assignment and contribute to the electoral fortunes of the APC and the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
They pledged their continued solidarity and support for the former governor in his new role, while wishing him good health, wisdom and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The forum prayed that his efforts would contribute to what it described as a successful electoral campaign for the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
