Hon. Adamu S. Ladan FCAI has handed over a newly constructed six-classroom school to the Dandume Local Government Area and the people of Tudun Badole community in Katsina State.
The school, which was constructed as part of Ladan’s contribution towards improving access to quality education, was formally handed over to the local government and community at a ceremony held in Tudun Badole on Friday.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ladan described the project as a modest contribution towards supporting education and community development, stressing that education remained the foundation of sustainable development.
He urged the people of Tudun Badole and surrounding communities to take ownership of the school, protect its facilities and ensure that it continued to serve the purpose for which it was established.
Ladan particularly called on parents and community leaders to encourage children, especially girls, to take advantage of the educational opportunity provided by the new facility.
He also urged teachers to provide the pupils with quality education and sound moral upbringing, noting that the future of Dandume, Katsina State and Nigeria depended on how children were educated and nurtured.
“I consider this project a modest contribution on my part towards supporting education and the development of our communities,” Ladan said.
He appealed to the community to safeguard the school against vandalism and other activities that could undermine its facilities.
Ladan expressed appreciation to the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, whom he credited with helping to facilitate the opportunity for the project.
He also acknowledged the support and cooperation of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda; the Chairman of Dandume Local Government, Alhaji Bashir Sabi’u Gyazama; and the member representing Dandume Local Government in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yahaya Nuhu Mahuta.
The benefactor further commended community leaders, contractors and workers for their contributions towards the completion of the project.
He prayed that the school would become a centre of learning capable of producing teachers, doctors, engineers, leaders and other professionals who would contribute to the development of Dandume, Katsina State and Nigeria.
Ladan also prayed that the project would become a source of lasting reward and “Sadaqah Jariyah” for all those who contributed to its establishment.
