2027:Rep Bichi Urges The North To Reciprocate Tinubu’s Support For Buhari

By Abdullahi Yusuf

A member of the House of Representatives,Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, has urged the people of the North to reciprocate President Bola Tinubu’s support for late President Buhari, by voting massively for him(Tinubu) to enable him to secure a second term in 2027.

Abubakar, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency Kano State, said this was because Asiwaju Bola Tinubu played a crucial role in late Muhammadu Buhari’s emergence as President of Nigeria after several unsuccessful attempts.

He made the call at a stakeholders’ meeting and the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for Bichi Federal Constituency in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.

According to him, Buhari might not have won the 2015 presidential election without the political support and strategic intervention of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The lawmaker said the time had come for Northern political stakeholders to demonstrate appreciation for Tinubu’s gesture.

“Tinubu made the late Muhammadu Buhari to emerge as President of Nigeria after several unsuccessful attempts. It is now time for us to pay him back for what he did for the North,” he said.

He rejected claims that President Tinubu’s policies were deliberately designed to marginalize Northern Nigeria, describing such allegations as politically motivated and inconsistent with the administration’s development efforts in the region.

He cited federal government approvals for major road construction and other infrastructure projects in Kano State as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to the development of the North.

“Those saying President Tinubu does not like the North are not sincere. We have decided to vote massively for the President because of his developmental support for Kano,” Abubakar said

He stated that several projects being implemented in Kano would have been difficult to achieve without federal government support, insisting that the President’s interventions had contributed significantly to the state’s development.

The lawmaker then disclosed that APC stakeholders in the Kano North Senatorial District had resolved to mobilise at least one million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, the district has approximately 1.3 million registered voters, which the party intends to mobilise through grassroots campaigns and sustained engagement with the electorate.

“We are not just talking about Bichi or Kano North alone; we are talking about the whole 44 local government areas. We are talking about the whole of Kano, and we will get what we want,” he declared.

He said the party is determined to strengthen its political base across Kano State and secure victory for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, urged members of the campaign council to intensify their mobilisation efforts to ensure the victory of all APC candidates.

Garo, however, cautioned the campaign team against actions capable of undermining peace and stability in Kano North.

He called on party supporters to adopt issue-based campaigns and persuade voters through constructive engagement rather than violence or intimidation.

Similarly, the Director-General of the APC Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council in the State, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, urged the Bichi campaign team to leverage grassroots mobilisers and youth support groups to expand the party’s reach.

Gwarzo expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in the 2027 presidential and governorship elections in the state, and urged the party’s supporters to shun violence and conduct their political activities peacefully.
